The People Behind Our Business

Macy Bland, Head Baker

Macy is a rising 8th grader attending school at the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. She is an A honor roll student who enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends. Macy also enjoys music of various genres and riding her bike. She loves to bake and believes that if you can dream it, she can bake it.

Macy specializes in custom dessert creations and offers gift packaging tailored to the event being celebrated. Her next big step is to start offering her baked goods at the local farmer’s markets through Waccamaw Market Cooperative (WMC) once the school year ends.

Jonathan Bland, Owner

Jonathan is the proud father of Macy Bland. He graduated from Fairmont State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Administration and has spent the last 20 years working in sales for a hydraulic repair company.

In 2018, he transitioned from a fulltime position to a consulting role focusing primarily on inside sales for the same hydraulic repair company. Seeing the love of his daughter for baking and with the business sense to help her get started, he established the Macy Bakes, LLC business to support her entrepreneur spirit.

COVID-19 Safety and Security / Health Protocols

We ensure that the highest quality products are prepared following standard hygiene practices: hair is secured under a hat, hands are frequently washed using warm water and soap, and gloves are worn during direct handling of the products.

The work area is kept clean at all times. For full transparency, per South Carolina Cottage Food Laws, all items are “NOT FOR RESALE. PROCESSED AND PREPARED BY A HOME-BASED FOOD PRODUCT OPERATION THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO SOUTH CAROLINA’S FOOD SAFETY REGULATIONS.”
